![]() ![]() I can pick one of the following add-on : also gives a regenerative status that heal at the start of each turn for a few turn OR remove a debuff OR gives a defensive buff. For example : I upgrade the skill Heal to level 5. Every so often, at "treshold skill levels", the players will be able to pick one (and only one !) of several options to modify the effect of a particular skill. Each level will not only strenghten the skill (higher %, more reliable, decreased CD), but also increases the character's base stats (skill progression effectively replacing leveling, with each skill boosting different stats on a case-by-case basis). Every skill start at level 1 and their level can then be increased (up to a maximum) by spending more XP. ![]() You progress through it as expected, with a set starting point, an XP cost to learn new skills, and conditions that must be met to progress further (most of the time, learning the previous skills in the tree, but stats, story progression and completion of side quests / use of limited or rare objects as requirements are also an option). The skill trees will be divided into several branches. They still earn XP - but instead, it's used to progress on the skill tree and upgrade equipements. ![]() Here's what I intend to do, I'd like if experienced could confirm me if those things are possible to put into an RPG Maker Game (keep in mind that I have literally never written a single line of code in my entire life and have absolutely zero notions when it comes to programming while I'm open and willing to learn, I'm looking for the easiest, most accessible option, hence why I'm not using Unity or Game Maker instead) : One idea I've been brewing up for a long time now is to create an horror-themed JRPG however, I have many qualms with classic JRPGs designs and intent to 'fix' them (or at least put an interesting spin on them, because hey, I'm still just one guy in his garage pretending to solve industry-wide 'issues' ). ![]()
